Latin America Real Estate Site Heralds Top Ranking for Retirement in Mexico

As more and more people retire in Mexico every year, Latin American Home Investment is proud
to announce the country's ranking as the best place to retire in the world by International Living.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (PRWeb) July 2, 2008 -- Latin American Home Investment, an online network that offers information about Latin America real estate, is pleased to announce that Mexico has been named the best place to retire by International Living. The popularity of retirement in Mexico has been growing exponentially in recent years for a number of reasons, as this recent ranking in the magazine's Global Retirement Index proves.
Americans and Canadians who have chosen to retire in Mexico already know the benefits of purchasing real estate south of the border. The real estate in popular tourist destinations like Puerto Vallarta, Punta de Mita, La Paz and Manzanillo is inexpensive, goods and services are very affordable, and quality medical services are a great deal. With familiar chain stores and restaurants popping up everywhere, in addition to the friendly traditional Mexican restaurants and shops, retirees also feel at home after they retire in Mexico. Not to mention the sunny weather and beautiful landscapes.
Mexico retirement was ranked #1 by International Living based on a series of criteria including cost of living, infrastructure, healthcare, safety and stability, real estate, special benefits and immigration perks. As the team at Latin American Home Investment knows, Mexico offers tradition and beauty combined with contemporary living and all the amenities that go along with it. There are many great areas to retire in Mexico, where one's quality of life can go up as the cost of living goes down. This is just what many retirees are looking for right now.

Puerto Vallarta Tourism Office Releases Annual Results

The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Office closed the year by publicizing their results in terms of promotion, public relations and marketing campaigns. As for promotional activities, Puerto Vallarta participated in 141 events in cities across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and South America. The investment was $4,850,000 pesos, which was well used by establishing contact with more than 20,000 travel agents throughout the world to promote our destination. Moreover, they already have scheduled their first promotion plans of the New Year to visit Chicago, Monterrey and Spain.
In terms of public relations, the office generated press releases that were distributed nationally and internationally, and they also attracted 88 journalists from different media, resulting in 200 articles published about our destination in Mexico and 300 in the United States. For next year, plans have already been made for press conferences in several cities of Mexico. Finally, in terms of marketing, an investment of $29,523,651 pesos was made to fund campaigns in the US, Canadian and Mexican markets.
Through these concentrated initiatives, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Office works to promote our destination, in addition to preparing for major upcoming events such as Vallarta Wine Fest planned to for February, the 11th Fireworks Symposium in April, and Restaurant Week which will be held in the latter half of May.

Riviera Nayarit Cited as Top Travel Hotspot
Blackbookmag.com cited our fabulous Riviera Nayarit as the top travel hotspot of 2009, ahead of Vancouver, Kansas City, Peru and Vilnius, Lithuania. Bryce Longton wrote an article on this website singing his praises of this increasingly famous stretch of beach which stretches from just north of our city and around the tip of the bay and up the coast past Punta de Mita. Says Longton, “Just north of Puerto Vallarta, this stretch of sun and sand is busy launching itself as the next place to be. Since it’s up and coming, the area is a bit of a hodgepodge of activities; luckily, there’s something for everyone, whether you like golf, surf, or just plain old sun.”
And right he is. Not only the Riviera Nayarit, but also the entire Bay of Banderas from Punta de Mita south to Yelapa,  is brimming with a plethora of activities, hotels, restaurants and services to suit every taste and budget. Our year round destination is now coming to the forefront of the world travel community, but we here in Vallarta have appreciated our treasure for years.

Make-A-Wish Raises Funds Enrich Lives of Terminally Ill Children
In an enthusiastic commitment to grant a special wish to children struggling with life threatening illnesses, Make-A-Wish Mexico recently held a very successful Las Vegas Fantasy fundraising evening in Oscar’s. After a delicious three-course dinner, the casino opened up and featured many games of chance including roulette, Texas Hold’em, bingo and even slot machines. Attendees accumulated chips while playing the games throughout the casino, then cashed them in later in the evening for raffle tickets. There were numerous prizes including dinners, golf passes, swim with the dolphin tours and hotel stays. It was a fabulous evening, but the real winners are the children who will have their wishes granted in 2009 from the funds generated from this evening.

But sadly, there is always a large waiting list of children in Mexico waiting for their wishes to be granted while they are still healthy enough to enjoy them. In an effort to continue raising funds for Make-A-Wish Mexico, are the day trips and tours to places such as Talpa, Mascota, Tonala and Mexico City, which are open to the public. A portion of the ticket price for these tours is given to Make-A-Wish to help grant more wishes. These trips include bus transportation, bilingual guides, meals as outlined, hotels on the overnight trips and more. For detailed information click here.

Perhaps there is no greater sadness in the world than a child with a terminal illness, but thankfully due to the kind folks at Make-A-Wish and their high profile status throughout the world, many children are having their final wishes come true. For further information on Make-A-Wish Mexico visit www.makeawishmexico.org.mx.
